Vancouver Motorcycle Trip


Wednesday: Breakfast stop in Canmore. This was after my first mishap - hitting some rockfall.

Saturday: Riding the first of three ferries from Horseshoe Bay, Vancouver to Departure Bay, Nanaimo.

Saturday: Bikes go at an angle to the ship's centerline, on their side stand, are put in gear, rear wheel to the rail, steering locked, chalk under the engine on the right side.

Saturday: Waiting for the second ferry to Denman Island. On the ferry bikes go to the front of the line, are loaded first, and unloaded first.

Saturday: On the last ferry from Denman Island to Hornby Island.

Sunday: After eating and fixing coffee, Eric and I wander the shoreline and marvel in the breathtaking beauty of this very unique and special place.

Tuesday: A rainy ride on the ferry back from Nanaimo to Horseshoe Bay. It poured all the way from the ferry terminal to Abbotsford.

I had the pleasure of sitting and talking with Dan, a Civil Engineer from Nanaimo, on the ferry ride back to the mainland. Dan was off to Laguna Seca aboard his KLR for the Moto GP.

Wednesday: After camping next to a noisy sawmill that ran all night in Merritt, I took the twisty 5A through the Nicola Valley to Kamloops, pausing at Stump Lake.

Wednesday: The road home. Just outside of Banff and a few hours until home.
